Michigan’s 2026 Winter Capoeira Festival: Save the Date

The Michigan capoeira community has exciting news for practitioners across the Midwest and beyond. The Michigan Center For Capoeira in Farmington Hills has officially announced dates for their 2026 Winter Capoeira Festival, scheduled for February 6-8, 2026.

Event Schedule

The festival will kick off on Friday, February 6 at 5:00 PM EST and conclude on Sunday, February 8 at 4:00 PM EST. This three-day format is typical for winter capoeira festivals, allowing participants ample time for intensive training, traditional rodas (capoeira circles), workshops on instruments like berimbau and pandeiro, and cultural exchange within the Brazilian martial art tradition.

Location Details

The event will take place at The Michigan Center For Capoeira’s studio:
27881 Orchard Lake Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48334
The spacious facility features professional mats and can accommodate groups of 50-100 participants. Its location near Detroit makes it easily accessible for capoeiristas traveling from Ohio, Illinois, and other neighboring states.
