Shaolin Temple Center China opens its 2026 summer season to everyone ready for authentic training at the heart of the Shaolin tradition. The camp takes place directly within the monastery complex in Dengfeng, Henan Province — at the foot of Mount Songshan, where martial arts have lived for fifteen centuries.
Dates and Format
The 2026 summer camp runs from June through August, with flexible session lengths from one to four weeks, designed for participants aged 6 to 70. Arrival is open on a rolling basis throughout the season — no fixed group dates. This allows participants to fit the trip around their personal schedule.
Programme
Each day begins with morning meditation to balance mind and body, followed by Kung Fu forms practice and hands-on weapons training. Participants also join cultural workshops exploring Chinese traditions and philosophy.
The training curriculum covers traditional forms including Xiao Hong Quan, Da Hong Quan, Tongbi, staff work, Sanda, Qigong, and Chan Buddhism — taught as they are practised within the temple itself.
The cultural programme includes temple tours, calligraphy workshops, basic Mandarin lessons, and Buddhist philosophy sessions, as well as excursions to landmarks around Dengfeng.
Instructors and Lineage
The lead coaches are warrior monks and disciples of the 34th–35th generation Shaolin tradition, trained directly within the Henan Shaolin Temple. The centre is an officially authorised Shaolin Temple training facility for international students.
Accommodation and Safety
Participants stay in clean, comfortable dormitories with modern amenities. Meals are nutritious and balanced to sustain energy throughout the day. Group sizes are kept small, with a low instructor-to-student ratio ensuring personalised guidance.
On-site medical support, comprehensive insurance coverage, and clear emergency protocols are in place. All instructors and supervisors are background-checked, bilingual, and available around the clock.
How to Enrol
To register, submit an application through the official website and pay the enrolment fee of USD 100 — this covers your place reservation, visa documentation, and one set of linen. Once confirmed, the centre issues an official invitation letter for your Chinese visa application. Shaolin Temple China The nearest airport is Zhengzhou Xinzheng International (CGO); transfers to the monastery are available on request.
The Shaolin Temple Center China summer camp is not a tourist performance — it is direct access to a living tradition through people who grew up inside it. The season is open. Arrive when you’re ready.
