Bujinkan Austria has announced Nagato Taikai 26: from May 1 to 3, 2026, a three-day intensive course in Bujinkan-style bujutsu and ninjutsu will be held in Kufstein under the guidance of Nagato-sensei and a team of international instructors.
Location and format
Kufstein is a city in northern Tyrol, a convenient location for an international event with developed transport infrastructure and proximity to major airports. Training will take place at a multifunctional arena and city sports facilities.
The format is a classic three-day Taikai with daily training blocks, themed sessions, work in pairs and small groups, time for exams, and communication with masters. The event is designed for practitioners of all levels, from beginners to daishihan and shihan.
Program and content
The organizers announce a focus on the live transmission of budō principles. Main topics:
- Working with distance and timing — fundamental elements of effective budjutsu.
- Integration of traditional forms into the modern context of self-defense — applying the principles of classical techniques to real situations-
- Tactics and strategy of movement — understanding space, using angles, positioning-
- Working with and without weapons — taijutsu and bukiwaza with traditional weapons.
The three-day format allows participants to cover a large amount of material and reinforce their skills through repetition.

Nagato-sensei and the team of instructors
DaiShihan Toshiro Nagato is one of Massaki Hatsumi’s senior students and holds a 15th dan in Bujinkan. His approach to teaching is characterized by directness, practicality, and a deep understanding of combat principles.
In addition to Nagato-sensei, a team of international instructors — shihan and daishihan from different countries representing various lines of knowledge transmission within Bujinkan — will perform at Taikai.
Event status
Bujinkan Austria regularly hosts international seminars under the auspices of senior Japanese masters and maintains a high standard of event organization.
Nagato Taikai 26 is announced as an official international Bujinkan event, confirming its importance to the global community. The event logically complements the series of major international Taikai events in 2026 and strengthens Central Europe’s role as one of the centers of attraction for practitioners of bujutsu and ninjutsu.

Who is this event for
Nagato Taikai 26 is suitable for Bujinkan practitioners of all levels, instructors seeking to deepen their understanding of the system, students ready for intensive work, and those preparing for rank advancement exams.
The three-day format requires a certain level of physical fitness, but the program is adapted to different levels.
Why it is important
